What, say you, is a fanlisting?
"A fanlisting is," by word of the fanlistings.org, " simply an online list of fans of
a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an
individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no
costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and
country."
Where did DAYLODGE come from?
It's the hotel that the characters stay in while they are at the convention. I
thought it would be an appropriate name for the fanlisting, since this is where
everyone will be listed.
What is Dramacon?
Dramacon is an Original English Language (OEL) manga by Svetlana
Chmakova. It's her first full length manga, but don't let that fool you.
The story of Dramacon follows an amateur writer, Christie, when she attends
her first anime convention to promote the manga she had started with her artist
boyfriend, Derek. The fast-paced commotion of the convention, along with
her boyfriend ignoring her feelings, bombards Christie through out the entire
first day of the con. Yet, when she runs into the mysterious, sunglass-wearing
cosplayer, Matt, Christie finds comfort in his presence and even finds herself
falling for him! But what is she going to do with herself when she knows they'll
be miles apart from each other in just a couple of days?
What is there to know about Svetlana Chmakova?
Svetlana Chmakova was born and raised Russian, and moved to Canada at the
tender age of 16. She slept through Sheridan College but they still gave her a
three-year Classical Animation Diploma (yeah, she's still waiting for them to
figure out they made a mistake and come back to take it from her). Svetlana is
currently a freelance artist, working on stuff that mostly has nothing to do with
animation. Oops. She suspects it has something to do with the fact that comics
now own her soul.
Svet has drawn for how-to-draw-manga books, RPG manuals, toy designs,
animation, book covers and illustrations. Her current works include two
manga-style online comics--Chasing Rainbows on www.girlamatic.com and
Night Silver at www.wirepop.com.
Favorite hobbies are: sleeping, reading more comics than is healthy for her
wallet and fighting with the family cat over chair territory.
To find out more please visit her website at www.svetlania.com (while you're
there, tell it she says hi... >.>).
[Yaye for Tokyopop and their awesome creator profiles. -too lazy to do one
herself right now- ]
